Copyright and DMCA

Yours Truly respects the rights of people who make things. If you believe something on our service uses your work without permission, you can tell our designated agent here, and if a notice was filed about something you posted, you can answer it.

Our designated agent

Notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. 512) go to the agent we have registered with the US Copyright Office:

DMCA Agent, Yours Truly Online Inc.Yours Truly Online Inc., 5126 Bur Oak Circle, Raleigh, NC 27612legal@yourstruly.love

You can send a notice by email, by post, or with the form on this page. The form asks for everything the law requires, so it is the quickest way to a notice we can act on.

What a notice must contain

A notice is only valid when it includes all six of these:

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work you say is infringed. If one notice covers several works, a list of them.
  2. Identification of the material you say infringes, and where it is on our service. The web address of the page on yourstruly.love is the clearest way to do this.
  3. Your name, postal address, telephone number and email address, so we can reach you.
  4. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
  5. A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act for the owner.
  6. Your physical or electronic signature. Typing your full name counts as an electronic signature.

Knowingly misrepresenting that material infringes can make you liable for damages under 17 U.S.C. 512(f). If you are not sure whether a use is fair, please talk to a lawyer before you send a notice.

What happens next

When we receive a valid notice we remove or disable the material promptly and tell the person who posted it.

If a notice was filed about your content

If you believe your material was removed by mistake or misidentified, you can send a counter-notice under 17 U.S.C. 512(g). It must include:

  1. Identification of the material that was removed or disabled, and where it appeared before it was removed.
  2. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled by mistake or because it was misidentified.
  3. Your name, postal address and telephone number.
  4. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, outside the United States, any judicial district in which Yours Truly may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice or their agent.
  5. Your physical or electronic signature.

We send a copy of a valid counter-notice to the person who filed the original notice. If they do not tell us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action to keep the material down, we restore it within 10 to 14 business days of receiving your counter-notice.

Repeat infringers

Accounts that repeatedly infringe are terminated.

This page sits alongside our Terms of Use. For anything that is not about copyright, use the contact page.
