Yes, and you don’t need a paid plan to do it. Settings has a single download that packages your whole archive into one zip file: photos, audio and video as ordinary files you can open anywhere, and everything else, the memories, letters, questions and answers, as plain readable data. Nothing is locked in a format only we can read, and you can load a backup back in the same way.
If a Premium plan lapses, the account goes quiet rather than away. You can still open and read everything, and still download the full archive; what stops is adding new material. We email you before the window closes, and a lapsed account is held for 90 days before it becomes eligible for deletion. We won’t pretend there is an escrow or an endowment standing behind your archive, because there isn’t one. What protects you is that a complete copy is one download away at any time, on any plan, and a copy sitting on your own drive stays yours whatever becomes of us.
